Culturally-diversified bi-racial girl,
with a small diamond nose-ring
and a pretty smile
poses beside the words: “Women deserve better”.
And I almost let her non-threatening grin begin to
infiltrate my psyche-
till I read the unlikely small-print at the bottom of the ad.

This song makes me feel like I’ve swallowed rainbows…
Thanks to nichitastanescu for the translation of the lyrics into English:
I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
They pass like an instant, like wilting roses.
I’m told that time slipping by is a bastard
Making its coat of our sorrows.
Yet someone told me…
That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.
Well ? Could that be possible?
I’ve been trying really hard to avoid news that pisses me off and/ or upsets me lately. Dodging Glenn Beck’s lies, propaganda, histrionics, and nonsense on Reddit is like trying to walk on the beach and not end up with sand in your shoe…
Tonight, I noticed this post from the StoryofStuff Twitter: “Bully Glenn Beck attacks Story of Stuff: http://tinyurl.com/2tcnwl“. What really upset me though, is all of Beck’s minions rushing onto the internet posting hateful, ignorant comments on her YouTube videos. They’re also Twittering about it like crazy…
So here’s my request:
If haven’t seen The Story of Stuff, please go to their website and check it out:
not enough initiative to unpack the initiative because the thought of all that unpacked initiative is so draining and there's no time to do it anyway and oh god we're screwed aren't we?
With a lot of effort, I finally feel pretty good about my spending and overall finances. I have cut my credit card debt on three “regular” cards and four “store” cards in half this year. Four cards are totally paid off, and the other three about half of their respective limits. How do I know all this? !
Thanks to a recommendation from Dave, I signed up in December and couldn’t be happier. I did the opposite of what most sites and people suggest, in that I stopped using cash almost completely. I don’t usually charge purchases, but using Mint allowed me to see where all my spending on my Debit Card was happening.
If you’re like me, you want to know when things are going on in the area, who some good local companies are, who is making an effort to go “green”, etc. When I moved here recently, I felt like finding these people/ companies/ groups on Twitter or Facebook was often like finding a needle in the haystack. I am working on compiling some of my favorites to help out others in the same predicament.
I’ve tried to focus on those that post somewhat regularly, post interesting content, and don’t over-post.
